Instagram login or Facebook login?
Both connect your Instagram to Posty and both publish your posts. Facebook login unlocks collaboration invites and Reel music, but your Instagram has to be linked to a Facebook Page first.
What each login can do
| Feature | Instagram login | Facebook login |
|---|---|---|
| Posts, Reels, Stories and carousels | Yes | Yes |
| Tags and mentions | Yes | Yes |
| Collaborators on your posts | Yes | Yes |
| Accept collaboration invites | No | Yes |
| Reel music | No | Yes |
| Needs a linked Facebook Page | No | Yes |
Not sure? Start with Instagram login. You can switch to Facebook login later by reconnecting, and your posts and history stay where they are.
Is your Instagram linked to a Page?
In the Instagram app, go to your profile and tap Edit profile. Look at Page under Public business information.

Connect or create: not linked yet.
Set up Facebook login
Skip any step you’ve already done. Instagram and Facebook move their menus from time to time, so your screen may differ slightly.
- 1
Use a professional Instagram account
Business and Creator accounts both work; personal accounts can’t be connected. To switch, open Instagram’s settings, find Account type and tools and choose Switch to professional account. Your posts and followers stay the same.
- 2
Have a Facebook Page you manage
No Page yet? On Facebook, open Pages and choose Create new Page. It only needs a name and a category.
The person connecting Posty needs full control of the Page. If an agency or a former staff member created it, ask them for access first.
- 3
Link the Page to your Instagram
In the Instagram app, open Edit profile, tap Page and connect your existing Page. Log in to Facebook if asked.
Or from Facebook: open your Page’s settings, then Linked accounts, then Instagram. Each Instagram account links to one Page at a time.

Connect in Posty
Open Channels, choose Instagram, then pick Yes, it’s linked.

Continue with Instagram
In Facebook’s window, select the Page linked to your Instagram and allow every permission. Back in Posty, choose your account under Choose an Instagram account.
Already connected with Instagram login? Use Reconnect on the channel and pick Facebook. It stays the same channel.
Your Instagram account isn’t listed?
- Check the Page link again in Instagram under Edit profile.
- Reconnect and tick both the Page and the Instagram account in Facebook’s window. Unticked accounts are hidden from Posty.
- Make sure you have full control of the Page.
- Still stuck? On Facebook, open Settings, then Business integrations, remove Posty and connect again. Your posts aren’t affected.
