Social Media Approval Software

Every post signed off by the right people before it goes live

Posty is social media approval software for in-house teams and agencies. Choose how much review each workspace needs, ask your team, your client or both, and publish only what was approved. Every decision is recorded against the version the reviewer saw.

Choose how much review each workspace needs

Each workspace has one approval rule. A brand that moves fast can publish without review; a regulated client can require a sign-off on every post; an agency client can have your team approve first and the client second. Change the rule in settings and new posts follow it.

  • No approval, optional, required, or team then client
  • Set per workspace, so every client keeps their own rule
  • One approval covers every network the post goes to

Nothing goes live until someone has signed it off

With required approval, a post cannot be scheduled or published until someone with approval rights signs it off. Writers draft and submit, approvers decide, and the calendar only fills with posts that passed review.

  • Contributors draft; approvers sign off
  • Request changes with a comment on the post
  • Editing a scheduled post sends it back through review

Client approval inside the client’s own workspace

Invite a client into their own workspace as an approver with client visibility. They see the posts waiting for their decision and what is already approved, scheduled or published. They approve or request changes there, and each decision is recorded against their name.

  • Clients see only what is ready for them
  • Team comments and drafts stay hidden
  • Each client sees their own workspace and no other

Your team approves first, then the client

On Accelerate, a workspace can require two approvals in order. Your team approves first; only then does the post reach the client. The client reviews work your side is ready to stand behind, and nothing half finished leaves the agency.

  • Draft, team review, client review, scheduled
  • Client review starts the moment your team approves
  • Change requests return to the right side of the chain

Stakeholders sign off without wading through drafts

In-house teams use the same rules for stakeholders. Invite a head of marketing or a founder with client visibility and they see the posts that need them, not the backlog of drafts behind them. Review requests land in their email and on their Today page.

  • Stakeholders see posts that need their decision
  • Requests arrive by email and on Today

How one approval round works

From draft to scheduled post, with every request and decision on record.

  1. 1

Draft the post and choose reviewers

Draft the post for every network it goes to, then pick who should review it. Posty checks that each reviewer’s role lets them approve that stage.

  2. 2

Send one request for the whole batch

Send a single post, or up to 50 at the same stage with one shared note. Reviewers get an email and see the request on their Today page.

  3. 3

    Reviewers decide post by post

Each reviewer approves or requests changes, post by post, with comments where they need them. A change request goes back to whoever has to act on it.

  4. 4

Approved posts go on the calendar

Approval schedules any post that has a date, unless you turn that off. The approval record keeps who signed off which version, and when.

What approvals cost at three, five or ten client workspaces

Posty is priced per workspace, never per seat, so adding a reviewer never changes the bill. Slide to your number of clients and compare monthly with annual billing.

Questions about the approval workflow

What does social media approval software do?
It holds a post until the people who need to sign off have approved it. In Posty that rule is set per workspace: no review, optional review, one required approval, or your team first and the client second. Approval covers every network the post goes to, so nobody signs off the same post twice.
Which plans include the approval workflow?
Approval workflows come with Growth at $39 a month per workspace and Accelerate at $49. Accelerate adds the two-step chain where your team approves before the client. Starter has no approval workflow; it suits one person publishing for their own brand.
Do clients need an account to approve posts?
Yes. Invite the client to their workspace as an approver with client visibility, and they review from there. They count towards the workspace’s people: up to 10 on Growth, unlimited on Accelerate. Nobody is billed per seat on either plan.
Can clients see our internal comments and drafts?
No. Team comments stay with the team. A client with client visibility sees the posts waiting for them and what is approved, scheduled or published. Drafts, posts still in team review and internal notes never appear.
What happens when a reviewer requests changes?
A change request from your team sends the post back to draft. A change request from the client keeps it in client review and shares their feedback with your team, so the fix goes straight back to the person who asked for it.
Can I send a batch of posts for approval at once?
Yes. Select up to 50 posts at the same stage and send them in one request with a shared note. The reviewer still approves or questions each post on its own, so one change request never holds up the rest of the month.
Does approving a post publish it?
If the post has a date and the workspace schedules on approval, which is the default, the approval schedules it. Turn that off and approved posts wait until someone schedules them. Either way, editing a scheduled post moves it back to draft and the approvals start again.
