Posty vs Laterpost limits and approvals

Posty vs Later comes down to limits and sign-off. Later caps posts at 30 or 180 a profile a month below Scale, and approval does not stop a scheduled post. Posty has no post limit, and a post waiting for approval cannot publish. Later publishes to Snapchat; Posty to Bluesky, Discord and WordPress.

Which one fits your team

Choose Posty if

  • A post waiting for approval must not go live.
  • A brand publishes more than 180 posts a profile a month, drafts included.
  • You publish to Bluesky, Discord, WordPress or long-form YouTube.

Choose Later if

  • One person posts up to 30 times a profile a month and wants the lowest price.
  • You publish to Snapchat.
  • You want 2 years of analytics history, on Scale.

Posts per profile, or no limit

Later allows 30 posts a profile a month on Starter and 180 on Growth, and drafts count towards the limit. Only Scale, at $82.50 a month billed annually, is unlimited. Posty has no post limit on any paid plan, so a busy month or a backlog of drafts never runs into a cap.

Approval that holds a post

Later’s help centre says approval status does not block publishing: a scheduled post goes live at its time whether or not it was approved, unless you keep it as a draft or bar a user from scheduling without approval. In Posty, required approval holds a post: it cannot be scheduled or published until someone with approval rights signs it off. Accelerate asks your team before the client.

Clients who comment, or clients who approve

Later shares posts with outside reviewers through a link that expires after 7 days. They can comment, but approving needs the Reviewer role, which only Later users hold, and Growth includes 2 users. Posty invites clients to their own workspace with client visibility, where they approve or ask for changes; they count towards its 10 people on Growth.

Social Sets against workspaces

Later sells Social Sets of one profile per network: Starter has 1 set and 1 user, Growth 2 of each, Scale 6 sets and 4 users, with extra sets at $11.25 and users at $3.75 a month billed annually, from Growth. Posty bills each workspace, and a Growth workspace holds up to 10 people and any number of accounts, including two on the same network.

The networks each one publishes to

Later publishes to Snapchat, which Posty does not, and to YouTube Shorts only. Posty uploads Shorts and long-form YouTube videos, publishes to Discord, and publishes to Bluesky and WordPress, which Later lists as unsupported. Neither publishes to X.

Moving from Later to Posty

Posty does not import from Later, so the move is done by hand. Each Later Social Set usually becomes one Posty workspace.

  1. 1

Turn each Social Set into a workspace

Create one workspace per brand or client and set its timezone. Unlike a Social Set, a workspace can hold more than one account on the same network.

  2. 2

    Connect the social accounts

Sign in to each network through its own consent screen. Nobody shares a password, and each account belongs to one workspace.

  3. 3

Invite the team and set the approval rule

Invite your team with the roles they need, choose the approval rule for each workspace, and invite clients with client visibility.

  4. 4

Move the posts and your bio links

Recreate the posts still scheduled in Later and remove them there so nothing publishes twice. Rebuild your link in bio page in Posty and update the link in your profile.

Questions about Posty and Later

Is Posty cheaper than Later?
For one person, Later Starter costs less: $18.75 a month billed annually against $24 for Posty Starter, but it allows 30 posts a profile a month and has no inbox or approvals. With approvals, Later Growth is $37.50 a month for 2 users and 2 Social Sets; Posty Growth is $32 a workspace for up to 10 people.
Will Later publish a post that hasn’t been approved?
Yes. Later’s help centre says approval status doesn’t block publishing: a scheduled post goes live at its time whether or not it was approved. To hold a post, keep it as a draft or turn off a user’s permission to schedule without approval.
Does Posty have a link in bio like Later?
Yes. Posty’s Free plan includes Link in Bio, and every paid plan keeps it, with click insights. Later includes Link in Bio on its paid plans too.
Does Posty publish to Snapchat or X?
No. Posty does not publish to Snapchat, X or Google Business Profile. Later publishes to Snapchat; its help centre says it stopped supporting X in August 2025.
How do the free trials compare?
Later offers a 14 day trial of a paid plan, which needs a card, and a Free plan of 12 posts a profile a month. Posty has a 7 day trial of Starter, Growth or Accelerate, once per team. It needs a card, and Stripe bills the plan you chose when the trial ends unless you cancel. The Free plan includes Link in Bio only, not scheduling.
