Media Library for Social Media

Every image and video for the brand, in one place you post from

Posty’s media library for social media keeps each workspace’s images and videos in folders, filters them to the shapes each network recommends, shows which posts use a file and sends your alt text with the image.

Folders for every campaign, season and brand asset

Make folders inside folders and drag files between them, in a grid of thumbnails or a tree that opens several folders at once. Colour folders to find them quickly. Upload the same file into a folder twice and Posty keeps one copy.

  • Nested folders with colours
  • Grid and tree views
  • Duplicate uploads to a folder are kept once

Filter to the files that fit the network

Pick a network and the library narrows to images and videos in the shapes it recommends, so a Reel starts from a vertical video and a YouTube upload from a landscape one. Posty still checks size, format and length when the post publishes.

  • Shapes from each network’s own guidance
  • Filter several networks at once

Write alt text once and send it with the image

Describe an image once in the composer and the description stays with the file. Posty sends it with the image to every network whose API takes alt text, including Bluesky, Pinterest and WordPress, so people using screen readers get it too.

  • Written once per image
  • Reused every time the image is posted
  • Sent only where the network accepts it

See which posts use a file before you touch it

Open a file to see the posts it appears in before you change or remove it. Removing a file from the library never strips it from a scheduled post, and you can start a new post from any selection of files.

  • Every post that uses a file, listed
  • Scheduled posts keep their media
  • Start a post from selected files

Removing it from the library leaves scheduled posts untouched.

Storage sized to the plan, shown as you go

Starter includes 5 GB per workspace, Growth 25 GB and Accelerate 100 GB. The library shows how much is used, and an upload that would go over is refused before it starts rather than failing halfway.

From upload to published post

Files go into the workspace once and come out in every post that needs them.

  1. 1

    Upload into folders

Drop images and videos into the library, or straight into a folder. Posty checks there is room before the upload starts.

  2. 2

    Find the right file

Filter to the shapes a network recommends, preview a file and see which posts already use it.

  3. 3

    Attach it to a post

Pick files in the composer from the same grid and folders, and add alt text to each image.

  4. 4

    Publish with the description

Posty sends the file, and its alt text where the network takes it, when the post goes out.

Questions about the media library

What is a media library for social media?
It is where a brand’s images and videos live between shoots and posts. In Posty each workspace has its own library, and the composer picks from it, so the files you plan with are the files that publish.
How much storage do I get?
5 GB per workspace on Starter, 25 GB on Growth and 100 GB on Accelerate. The library shows what is used, and an upload that would not fit is refused before it starts.
Does deleting a file break a scheduled post?
No. Removing a file from the library hides it there, but every post that uses it keeps it, so a tidy up can never strip media from a scheduled post. Removed files still count towards storage.
Which networks receive alt text?
Write it once on the image in the composer and it stays with that file. Posty sends it with the image to the networks whose APIs take alt text: Bluesky, Pinterest, Discord, WordPress and LinkedIn single image posts.
Is the library shared between workspaces?
No. Every workspace has its own library, so one client’s files never appear in another client’s workspace or composer.
Is this social media asset management software?
It covers the asset management a social team uses every day: folders, previews, alt text, shape filters per network and a record of where each file is used. It is not a brand portal for files that never go near social.
