Why LinkedIn banners get cut off or look blurry

A personal profile background is 1584 by 396 pixels, a very wide 4:1 strip. Your profile photo sits over its bottom left, and phones trim the edges. Text placed at the far left or right, or low on the left, is what people most often lose.

A blurry banner is almost always a rescaled one. LinkedIn resizes any upload that is not the exact size and compresses JPEGs hard. A banner with text or a logo stays crisper as a PNG at exactly 1584 by 396 pixels, because there is nothing to rescale and PNG keeps sharp edges.

Company pages use a different cover: 1128 by 191 pixels, even wider at 5.91:1, with the page logo over the bottom left. Keep the message in the centre right of both, and the tool shows where each photo or logo lands.
