Why one photo needs so many sizes
Every network and every spot has its own shape. An Instagram portrait is 1080 by 1350 pixels, a Facebook landscape post 1200 by 630, a YouTube thumbnail 1280 by 720, a Pinterest pin 1000 by 1500 and a LinkedIn banner 1584 by 396. One photo cannot fill all of them without cropping.
Resizing alone stretches or squashes. This tool crops instead: each size gets its own frame over your photo, and you move each frame so the subject sits right in every shape. Wide banners and tall Stories rarely want the same part of the picture.
Where a network covers part of the image, with a profile photo on a banner or buttons on a Story, the tool draws that over the crop. Where a network caps file size, the export stays under the cap.

- What size should images be for social media?
- It depends on the network and the spot. An Instagram portrait post is 1080 by 1350 pixels, a YouTube thumbnail 1280 by 720 pixels, a Pinterest pin 1000 by 1500 pixels. This tool lists and exports each one, so you do not have to remember them.
- Can I resize one image for every platform at once?
- Yes. Upload once and the tool shows every size side by side. Move each crop on its own, then download only the ones you need.
- Does resizing reduce image quality?
- Scaling down keeps a photo sharp; scaling up cannot add detail. Start with a photo at least as large as the biggest size you need, such as the 2560 by 1440 pixels YouTube banner.
- Which sizes are included?
- Post, Story, cover and banner sizes for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky and Google Business Profile.
- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
- No. Your photo opens in your browser and is processed on your own device; it is never sent to Posty or anyone else. Saving a download re-encodes the image, which also strips the EXIF data your camera stored, including GPS location. You do not need an account.
