Where Instagram covers your Story

A Story fills a phone screen at 9:16, 1080 by 1920 pixels. Instagram then lays its own interface over it: the progress bars, your profile photo and name at the top, and the reply bar and share button at the bottom. Anything underneath is hard to read or hidden.

Keep text and faces out of the top 250 pixels and the bottom 320 pixels, and at least 120 pixels in from each side. The background can run under those margins; only what people need to read has to stay inside.

A photo that is not 9:16 gets zoomed in or padded by Instagram. A normal phone photo is shorter than a Story, so Instagram either cuts its sides to fill the screen or shows it small on a coloured background. Cropping it yourself at the exact size keeps you in control of what shows.

Facebook Stories use the same 1080 by 1920 pixels frame, but Facebook’s buttons and caption take more of the bottom, about 380 pixels. The tool draws both, so one crop can work on each.

Can I schedule Instagram Stories?
Yes. Posty publishes photo and video Stories through Instagram’s API at the time you set. The API does not support stickers, polls or link stickers, so add those in the app when a Story needs them.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photo opens in your browser and is processed on your own device; it is never sent to Posty or anyone else. Saving a download re-encodes the image, which also strips the EXIF data your camera stored, including GPS location. You do not need an account.
