How to post a full picture on Instagram without cropping
Instagram only shows a feed photo between 4:5 and 1.91:1. Most phone photos are 3:4 portrait, taller than Instagram allows through its API, and panoramas are far wider, so Instagram crops them to fit. The only way to show the whole photo is to make the canvas the right shape and place the photo inside it.
That is what this tool does. It scales each photo until its longest side meets the frame, centres it and fills the space left over. White borders look clean on a light feed. A solid colour can match your brand. A blurred copy of the photo fills the gap with its own colours, so there are no hard borders at all: the answer when you want no crop and no white background.
For a horizontal picture, a 4:5 frame gives you the biggest post in the feed, with the photo across the middle and background above and below. A 1.91:1 frame needs less padding but shows smaller. On the profile grid, the centred 3:4 crop trims a little from each side of a 4:5 frame, so keep important detail away from the very edges.
If you post straight from the Instagram app, the 3:4 frame (1080 by 1440 pixels) fills a grid tile exactly. Scheduling tools, Posty included, cannot publish 3:4, because Instagram’s API stops at 4:5. Use the 4:5 frame for anything you schedule.

- How do I post a horizontal picture on Instagram?
- A landscape photo can go up as it is if it is no wider than 1.91:1, but it shows small in the feed. Fitting it into a 4:5 frame with a background makes the post taller, so it takes more of the screen while the photo itself stays whole.
- Can I fit several photos at once?

- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
