What you can publish to WordPress
Posty publishes through the WordPress REST API, with access you approve on your own site or through WordPress.com. Everything else about the post is set in the composer.
Every WordPress limit, in full- Posts and pages
- Any post type your user can create. A title of up to 200 characters is required.
- Featured image
- Pick one attached image as the featured image, or Posty uses the first. Other images and videos follow the text.
- Categories and tags
- Choose from the site’s own categories. Type tags by name; existing tags are reused and new ones created.
- Status
- Published, Draft, Pending review or Private, so a post can arrive ready for a last look in WordPress.

WordPress opens its own approval screen. Sign in if asked and approve Posty; you land back in Posty with the site connected.

Write the post, give it a title, category and tags, and pick a time, or send it for approval first. Posty publishes it on time.
Questions about scheduling on WordPress
- Can you schedule posts on WordPress without a plugin?
- Yes. WordPress can publish a post at a future time on its own. Posty adds what WordPress cannot: the blog post sits on the same calendar as the social posts that promote it, goes through the same approvals, and is planned by the same team.
- How do I connect WordPress to Posty?
- Enter your site’s address and approve Posty on your own WordPress admin screen, or sign in with WordPress.com for a site hosted there. You never type a password into Posty, and revoking the access in WordPress cuts Posty off at once.
- Which WordPress sites work?
- Self-hosted WordPress 5.6 or later, served over https, with the REST API reachable. Some security plugins block the REST API or strip the login header; allow the REST API for your user if connecting fails.
- Can I send a post to WordPress as a draft?
- Yes. Choose Draft, Pending review or Private instead of Published, and the post arrives in WordPress with that status for a final check in the WordPress editor.
- Can I schedule WordPress pages as well as posts?
- Yes. Posty offers every post type your WordPress user can create, including pages. Categories and tags apply where the post type supports them.
- Does Posty show traffic for my blog posts?
- No. WordPress itself does not record views, so there is nothing for Posty to report. Keep using your site’s analytics for traffic.
