TikTok limitations
TikTok's Content Posting API is video-first with strict file specs, account-dependent duration caps and shared daily volume limits. Analytics access is intentionally shallow.
Publishing limits
The limits TikTok applies to posts published through its official API. Posty checks every one of these while you compose.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Caption length | 2,200 characters |
| Video file | MP4, MOV, WebM, up to 4.0 GB |
| Video length | up to 10 minutes Many accounts have a lower per-account cap; Posty checks your account's live limit before publishing. |
| Resolution | 360–4,096 px per side |
| Posts per videoPosty | exactly one video TikTok photo posts use a separate API that Posty doesn't publish to yet. |
| Daily volume | ~15 posts per day per account Varies by account and is shared across every tool posting to it. |
Rows marked Posty are current Posty product choices rather than hard platform rules.
Analytics
Views, likes, comments and shares per video, plus follower counts.
- TikTok's standard API exposes no reach, watch time, daily breakdowns or audience demographics - those require TikTok's separate business analytics tier.
Inbox & messaging
TikTok provides no comment or DM access to third-party tools.
Good to know
- Privacy options (public, friends, private) depend on the account's own settings and are fetched live before each post.
- TikTok requires media URLs from verified domains - handled automatically by Posty's delivery pipeline.
These limits apply to every tool
They come from TikTok's official API, so no scheduler can exceed them. Posty validates against every limit on this page while you compose - if your post passes, TikTok will accept it.
