Connect Facebook to PostyPages and permissions
Posty publishes to Facebook Pages. You sign in with Facebook, allow Posty’s permissions, then pick the Page in Posty. Each connection adds one Page, and the channel card tells you whether every permission came through.
- What you need
- A Facebook Page you manage
- Where you sign in
- Facebook’s own window, then Posty’s Page picker
- How long it lasts
- About 90 days, then you sign in again
Before you connect Facebook
Have these ready and the connection takes a couple of minutes.
- A Facebook Page you manage
- Posty lists the Pages Facebook returns for the account you sign in with, and posts as the Page. Personal profiles are not offered.
- A business role for business Pages
- If the Page belongs to a business portfolio, Facebook only returns it when you hold a role in that business and allow every permission it shows, including business management.
- A Posty plan that includes channels
- Free includes Link in Bio only. Starter connects up to 10 channels per workspace; Growth and Accelerate have no channel limit. You can try any paid plan for 7 days, once per team: the trial needs a card and bills automatically unless you cancel.
- A role that can connect channels
- Only roles with permission to connect channels see the Facebook tile on Channels. Roles and permissions
What Posty asks Facebook for
Facebook shows Posty’s request on its own screen. Each permission switches on one part of Posty, so a missing one tells you exactly what will not work.
| What it unlocks in Posty | Permission requested |
|---|---|
| Account access | pages_show_listbusiness_management |
| Importing your posts | pages_read_engagement |
| Comments | pages_read_user_content |
| Replying to comments | pages_manage_engagement |
| Publishing | pages_manage_posts |
| Live inbox updates | pages_manage_metadata |
| Direct messages | pages_messaging |
| Analytics | read_insights |
If you untick some and still get Pages back, Posty connects the Page you pick and its card shows Missing permissions with the features affected. If Facebook returns no Pages because permissions are missing, the error names them after “Failed to connect Facebook: missing permissions”.
Connect Facebook step by step
- 1
Open Channels and choose Facebook
In your workspace, open Channels and select the Facebook tile under Connect a channel. Posty opens Facebook in a small window. If your browser blocks it, the whole tab goes to Facebook instead and comes back when you finish.
- FacebookConnect page
The Facebook tile on the Channels page, which reads: Connect page - 2
Sign in and allow every permission
Sign in as someone who manages the Page and keep everything ticked. If you declined a permission before, Facebook asks for it again. Finish within 10 minutes, or the attempt expires and you start again.

Pick the Page in Posty
Back in Posty, Select a Facebook Page lists the Pages Facebook returned, even when there is only one. Choose one and select Connect Page. To add another Page, connect again and pick that one.

Check it worked
When it works, Posty shows
“Facebook Page connected successfully!”
The Page appears under Connected channels with its name and picture. Select the status icon at the top of its card: a green check and Connected mean every permission came through.

Reconnect Facebook
Facebook lets an app read a Page’s data for about 90 days after you last signed in. Posty keeps the Page’s access fresh, but only signing in again resets that window, so the card always shows a countdown and warns you in the final week.
Select Reconnect from the card’s menu or its status popover. After Facebook, the picker offers only the original Page, so the same channel keeps its posts and history. If Facebook does not return that Page, the picker says so: check your Page access and business role in Facebook, then try again.

Fix common Facebook connection errors
Each message below is what Posty shows, followed by what to do about it.
- “Failed to connect Facebook: no_facebook_pages”
- Facebook returned no Pages for the account you signed in with. Check that this account manages the Page and, for a business Page, holds a role in that business. Then connect again and allow every permission.
- “Select the original Facebook Page to reconnect this channel.”
- A reconnect only accepts the Page the channel was connected with. To add a different Page, close the dialog and connect it from the Facebook tile as a new channel.
- “Your Facebook connection session expired. Please start again.”
- The Page picker waits 10 minutes. Close it and select the Facebook tile again.
- “This channel was removed or changed during reconnection. Start the connection again.”
- Someone disconnected or changed the channel while you were reconnecting it. Refresh Channels and connect the Page from the Facebook tile.
- The card says Missing permissions
- Someone unticked a permission on the network’s screen. Select Reconnect on the channel and allow everything listed. The warning clears once the reconnect completes.
- “Upgrade to connect”
- The workspace has used every channel its plan includes. Starter connects up to 10; Growth and Accelerate have no limit. Disconnect a channel you no longer use, or change plan.
Plan every network on one calendar
Connect your networks once, then plan, approve and publish to all of them from one calendar.
